Bracketology 2012: Cal A No. 9 Seed, St. Mary's A No. 5 Seed

The Bay Area has two likely representatives this year in the 2012 NCAA Tournament. One of them is pretty much locked in, the other still has some work to do.

Joe Lunardi of ESPN has his latest bracketology, and the top team in the Pac-12 is moving up just a little. The California Golden Bears swept the LA schools in Los Angeles, moving them up to a ninth seed in the tournament. Cal would face Mississippi State in the first round before taking on Missouri (who blew them out earlier this season) in the second.

The St. Mary's, Calif. Gaels are in better shape. St. Mary's are currently a fifth seed here, where they'd face Seton Hall in the first round and then get the winner of Indiana vs. Middle Tennessee State. Not a bad path at all for the Gaels.
