USF Vs. San Diego: Perris Blackwell Leads Dons To Victory

The University of San Francisco Dons claimed their second straight victory and fifth in six games as they went on the road to defeat the San Diego Toreros 81-70 Saturday evening at Jenny Craig Pavilion. USF improved to 7-6 in conference play with the victory and climbed to two games back of fourth place Loyola Marymount, who lost 78-59 at Gonzaga. San Diego dropped to 5-8 in conference and two games back of San Francisco.

Perris Blackwell led the way for the Dons as he led the team with 18 points and 11 rebounds, netting his second double-double of the season. Angelo Caloiaro added 16 points and Michael Williams and Cole Dickerson each scored 15 points. The Dons shot 51.9% from the field and more importantly, hit 16 of 17 free throws in the victory.

San Francisco enter the final stretch of their WCC schedule with a fairly brutal schedule. Although USF will host these final three games of the season, they will face BYU, Gonzaga and Saint Mary's before moving into conference tournament play.
