On the second day of the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am Tiger Woods is moving up the leaderboard after his front nine, but still trails Charlie Wi who is currently pacing the field at 11-under midway through Friday's action.
Tiger's playing Monterey Peninsula Country Club this afternoon, his first competitive round here in his career, but has already managed to easily birdie the first, two-putted for birdie on the par-5 6th, then backed it up with another birdie on the 7th. He found the fairway bunker on the 4th which led to his lone bogey thus far Friday, leaving him at 6-under for the tournament and two-under par for the day. a full five shots behind leader Charlie Wi.
Wi won himself a California State Amateur title back in 1990 when he was just 18 years old at Pebble Beach, so he could be channeling some if that this week.
Brian Gay has the hottest round of the day so far, five under through 12 at Monterey Peninsula, while Kevin Na and Dustin Johnson sit only one shot behind Wi at 10-under. As for the amateur leaderboard, Irishman Padraig Harrington and businessman JP McManus currently lead the way at 19-under par collectively, while Tony Romo and Tiger Woods sit at 11-under.
