San Francisco 49ers linebacker NaVorro Bowman was fined $10,000 by the NFL on Friday for his hit on Rams running back Steven Jackson in Week 13. The hit came on the second play of the game. At the time of the play, no flag was thrown.
In addition to Bowman's fine, the NFL also announced they would be fining safety Dashon Goldson $7,875 for his late hit on Rams quarterback Sam Bradford in the same game. Both players have said they plan to appeal the fines.
As SB Nation Bay Area wrote on Friday, the 49ers have seen quite a few flags thrown against them in recent weeks. Head coach Jim Harbaugh is not happy with the penalties, although he defended his players when asked for comment on the two fines.
The 49ers are set to take on the Miami Dolphins in Week 14. Bowman and Goldson are both expected to suit up for the 4:05 p.m. ET kickoff.
