The 7-5 Arizona State Sun Devils finished the season with a 5-4 record in the PAC-12 by defeating their in-state rival, the Arizona Wildcats, then ranked at No. 24, by a score of 41-34, capping off the inaugural season of new head coach Todd Graham. On Saturday, the Sun Devils will be hosting the Navy Midshipmen, who finished the season with a 8-4 record, in the 2012 Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl.
The two teams are meeting for the first time on Saturday, but Graham knows that the Midshipmen could challenge the Sun Devils, who are coming off their first winning season since 2007.
"I can tell you they'll be a formidable opponent," Graham said. "They're very different, very difficult, very well-coached, very disciplined. I know our guys are excited about the opportunity."
The same goes for Navy coach, Ken Niumatalolo, who knows that the Midshipmen are in for a fight on Saturday.
"Arizona State is an outstanding football team with great players on both sides of the ball," Navy coach Ken Niumatalolo said. "We have played a very tough schedule this year and there is no doubt that Arizona State will be as talented as any team we've faced."
The game will be played in San Francisco and kickoff is set for 1 p.m. PT and will be aired on ESPN2
