The San Francisco 49ers picked up their ninth win of the season with relative ease in Week 14, defeating the slumping Miami Dolphins by a score of 27-13. It wasn't a perfect performance by any means, but one the team really needed after a subpar showing against the Rams last Sunday.
Collin Kaepernick has stolen all of the headlines after being named the starting quarterback three weeks ago. Kaepernick ended up completing 18 of his 23 pass attempts for 185 yards. He did not throw a touchdown pass, nor did he turn the ball over. He did carry the ball six times, and a 50-yard touchdown run in the closing minutes of the fourth quarter essentially ended the game.
SB Nation's 49ers blog, Niners Nation, was pleased with the way Kaepernick played on Sunday.
Colin Kaepernick put together a solid performance, although there remain areas for improvement. He had what is turning into a weekly highlight reel play when he closed out the game with a 50-yard touchdown run. He has to work on his touch, but on plays where a strong throw was needed, he showed what he can bring to the table. The key is just better figuring out when to take a little more off the pass.
Kaepernick and the 49ers will look to take a big step towards wrapping up the NFC West next weekend when they face Tom Brady and the New England Patriots on Sunday Night Football.
