The California Golden Bears added two opponents to their future football schedules on Thursday afternoon. According to an official release from the athletics department, a home game in 2013 and a home-and-home series in 2015 and 2016 will help round out the schedules.
In 2013, California will welcome in the Portland State Vikings on Sept. 7. The Vikings have struggled in recent years, winning 12 games since the 2009 season. The team finished 3-8 this season, and they dropped their final three contests. This should be a winnable game for the Bears next season as they enter a new era with a new coach at the helm.
In 2015, the San Diego State Aztecs will make the trip to Memorial Stadium in Berkeley to play an out-of-conference game. The Golden Bears will return the favor the following year by playing SDSU at Qualcomm Stadium.
San Diego State has won upwards of eight games in each of the last three seasons, and a bowl win this winter would move the team to 10-3.
