San Jose Sharks forward Patrick Marleau will join a group of NHL stars, including the Pittsburgh Penguins' Sidney Crosby, in Arizona for workouts this week, according to CSN Bay Area's Kevin Kurz.
Marleau has stuck around in the Bay Area during the NHL lockout, even though 11 of his teammates, including Joe Thornton and Logan Couture, are currently playing overseas and one, Ryane Clowe, has a deal with the San Francisco Bulls of the ECHL. Clowe shares the distinction with Marleau of working out with Crosby this offseason, participating in previous sessions in Vail, Colo. and Dallas, Texas.
Prior to this week's event in the desert, Marleau had been skating at the Sharks' practice facility on a regular basis, along with defensemen Dan Boyle and Brad Stuart.
Shane Doan of the Phoenix Coyotes, Ray Whitney of the Dallas Stars and Ryan Miller of the Buffalo Sabres are among the other players who will skate at Scottsdale's Ice Den on Thursday and Friday.
