The 2012 FCS playoff bracket was announced today, with the Cal Poly Mustangs set to take on the Sam Houston State Bearkats on Dec. 1.
The Mustangs and Bearkats will face off in the second round of the postseason after earning a first round bye. Cal Poly finished the regular season 9-2, most recently defeating Northern Arizona to earn a share of the Big Sky title. Sam Houston State, meanwhile, is coming off a 47-28 defeat against No. 8 Texas A&M.
The FCS postseason will begin on Nov. 24 with four different games. In total, there are 20 teams in the playoff bracket, including top-ranked North Dakota State, No. 2 Eastern Washington, and No. 3 Montana State. The semifinals will take place on Dec. 14 and 15 with the National Championship on Jan. 5 at 1 p.m. in Frisco, Texas.
