The California Golden Bears are hoping to play spoiler against the Oregon State Beavers.

Kelley L Cox-US PRESSWIRE

The California Golden Bears are looking to snap their current four-game losing streak on Saturday as they travel to Corvallis to face the No. 16 Oregon St. Beavers.

The Beavers will be a difficult matchup for the Golden Bears. Oregon St. is 4-0 at Reser Stadium this season and 7-2 overall. The Beavers have also struggled recently, going 1-2 during their last three games after an impressive 6-0 start.

Cal will need to slow down Oregon State's passing offense if they have any hope of pulling off the upset on the road. The Beavers rank 24th in the country for total passing yards, averaging 297.2 total yards per game. Sean Mannion will lead the Oregon St. aerial attack after Cody Vaz suffered an ankle injury in last week's loss to Stanford.

The Golden Bear offense will also need to perform better than they have this season. Cal is currently 94th in the country in points scored per game. The Beaver defense presents a difficult challenge, as the unit has surrendered the 23rd fewest points in the country.

Injuries to key players only makes the challenge even harder for the Golden Bears. Both quarterback Zach Maynard and wide receiver Keenan Allen did not start last week, and their status for Saturday is uncertain. Allan Bridgford struggled in replacing Maynard, going 9-21 for 113 yards against Oregon.
