After rattling off five straight victories, San Jose State hosts BYU, who will enter Spartan Stadium as a touchdown favorite. The 8-2 Spartans are 4-1 in their conference and trying to play catch-up. Louisiana Tech and Utah State are both undefeated in the Western Athletic Conference at 4-0, leading San Jose State by a game.
The Spartans return home after two blowout victories on the road, a 42-13 win over Idaho two weeks ago and a 47-7 handling of New Mexico State last Saturday. San Jose State is seeking their ninth win, a mark they haven't reached since 2006.
BYU is also coming off a pair of blowout wins, defeating Idaho 52-13 and Georgia Tech 41-17. Prior to that, the Cougars gave undefeated Notre Dame all they could handle in a narrow 17-14 defeat.
San Jose State will have their chance to make a move in the WAC next week as they host co-leader Louisiana Tech to close out their season.
