Raiders activate Ron Bartell, place Shawntae Spencer on IR

The Oakland Raiders made a series of roster moves on Saturday, headlined by the activation of cornerback Ron Bartell from the injured reserve

The Oakland Raiders made a series of roster moves Saturday morning, headlined by the activation of cornerback Ron Bartell from the injured reserve, the team announced.

Since coming over from the Rams, Bartell has played and started in just one game this year for the Raiders. The veteran cornerback has been hampered by injuries recently, which limited him to just one start in 2011.

In addition to Bartell, the Raiders promoted running back Jeremy Stewart from the practice squad to the roster, as the team looks for additional insurance with star running back Darren McFadden out for Sunday's game, due to a high ankle sprain.

In order to make room on the roster for Bartell and Stewart, Oakland's hand was forced in opening up a few roster spots. The Raiders waived cornerback Pat Lee, who was a victim of the numbers game, and placed cornerback Shawntae Spencer on the injured reserve.
