The California Golden Bears face the UCLA Bruins this Saturday afternoon looking to turn around their season. Cal is currently 1-4 after losing three straight games, while UCLA is 4-1.
Cal has lost to Ohio State, USC and most recently Arizona State at home. Pressure is mounting this week, and California is probably expected to be performing a lot better than the record despite the tough start to the season. The road doesn't get any easier when they battle a rising Bruins squad that just made the top 25 for the second time in three weeks.
UCLA is currently favored by 2.5 to 3 points for this week's game (depending on the sportsbook you look at), which seems like a narrow line until you consider how much the Bruins have struggled at Memorial Stadium. UCLA has not won at Memorial in over a decade, even when the Bruins have sported some pretty competitive teams. This figures to be one of their best chances to pull a win.
