Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry missed 40 games last season due to right ankle problems. He is determined not to miss the season-opener this season. Curry was medically cleared to resume basketball activities on Sept. 20 after undergoing surgery on the ankle on April 25. Curry also had surgery on his ankle in the summer of 2011.
For his career, Curry has averaged 17.5 points per game on 47.3 percent shooting, 5.8 assists per game and 4.1 rebounds per game. Curry has also hit 44.1 percent of his shots from three-point range during his NBA career. In 26 games last season, Curry averaged career-lows with 14.7 points, 5.3 assists and 3.4 rebounds per game.
The Warriors open their season this year on the road when they play the Phoenix Suns on Oct. 31. The Warriors' first preseason game is this Sunday against the Los Angeles Lakers in a game which will be played at the Save Mart Arena in Fresno, California.
