The San Francisco 49ers face an important division test when they host the Seattle Seahawks on Thursday night. Both teams are 4-2 and tied with the Arizona Cardinals for first place in the NFC West. The 49ers can put the Seahawks in an 0-3 hole to start the division schedule, something that could be important for tiebreaker purposes later in the year.
The Raiders host the Jaguars in a battle of struggling teams in the AFC.
The Cardinals travel to Minnesota to take on a good Vikings squad on Sunday. Arizona has lost two in a row, and this will be a tough game. There is a good chance that the winner of Seattle-San Francisco emerges as the outright NFC West leader.
Houston hosts Baltimore on Sunday in a game that may have major implications for home field advantage in the AFC down the road. The night game features the Steelers visiting the Bengals in an AFC North battle. Monday sees the Lions at the Bears, as Detroit tries to gain ground in the NFC North race.
