Geneve will look to extend its first place lead in the Swiss National Hockey league this week when it hosts Ambri-Piotta and travels to take on the SCL Tigers.

Sharks center Logan Couture has eight points in eight games for Geneve, helping the club record a league leading 32 points through 13 games this season. Second place Fribourg trails Geneve by nine points for the league lead.

Ambri-Piotta currently sits in last place with just seven points. Geneve's second opponent, the SCL Tigers, are in second to last place with eight points.

Couture's Sharks teammate Joe Thornton will hope to improve HC Davos' 10th place standing when they host the Kloten Flyers and travel to play the Lakers on back-to-back nights. Davos trails both the Lakers and Flyers who are in third and seventh place respectively in the league.

Thornton, a 15-year veteran of the NHL, has three goals and six assists in 10 games for Davos this season.
