The 2012 NFL Playoffs continue with day two of the wild card round on Sunday. Saturday afternoon we saw the Houston Texans have little trouble with the Cincinnati Bengals in winning their first ever playoff game. Saturday evening, the New Orleans Saints got off to a slow start, but they caught fire in the second half and blew the Detroit Lions out the Superdome doors.
As we head into Sunday, the San Francisco 49ers will likely be focused almost exclusively on preparing for their Divisional Round matchup with the Saints. The 49ers were set to face the Saints or the winner of Sunday's Giants-Falcons game. With the Saints winning, that matchup was locked up, leaving Sunday's games as mild entertainment.
Atlanta Falcons @ New York Giants, 10:00am PT: Sunday's early game features the wild card Falcons and the NFC East champion Giants. New York had to win in Week 17 to claim the division and will look to avoid the inconsistencies that cost them chunks of the season. The game will be broadcast on FOX with the announcing crew of Joe Buck, Troy Aikman and Pam Oliver.
Pittsburgh Steelers @ Denver Broncos, 1:30pm PT: Sunday's afternoon game features the wild card Steelers traveling to face the AFC East champion Broncos. The storyline we will have beaten into our subconscious is Tim Tebow vs. Ben Roethlisberger. In reality, this game is about so much more than that. If the Broncos are going to pull the home upset, they will need their defense and Willis McGahee to shine. The game will be broadcast on CBS with the announcing crew of Jim Nantz and Phil Simms.
