The 2012 NFL Draft is approaching in the coming months. Accompanying the class of NCAA players who have announced their draft eligibility comes the expected swell of rampant speculation about where each player will end up.
The Stanford Cardinal figure to be well-represented in the upcoming draft. Along with quarterback Andrew Luck, who seems to be hurtling towards his inevitable No. 1 overall selection by the Indianapolis Colts, a pair of Stanford offensive linemen are expected to be selected in the first round. Offensive tackle Jonathan Martin and guard David DeCastro are highly coveted linemen in the 2012 class, with most experts projecting a top-15 pick of either one, or both.

But Rob Rang of CBS Sports has an interesting take on another Stanford player. In his Wednesday mock draft, Rang projected that Cardinal tight end Coby Fleener would be selected No. 26 of the first round by the New York Giants. This is the first mainstream lists that predicts Fleener would be selected in the first round. He is the only tight end that appears on either of the CBS Sports mock drafts, meaning that Rang pegs Fleener as the top TE in the entire draft.
The Giants are also an interesting choice for a team that would select Fleener in the first round. The speculation prior to this list is that the Giants, like a great many other teams, would look to address their line problems before picking up another young target for quarterback Eli Manning.
