Saint Mary's Vs. San Diego Final Score: Gaels Defeat Toreros 78-72, Remain Perfect In WCC

The Saint Mary's Gaels visited the San Diego Toreros on Thursday night and walked away with yet another win in WCC play. They bested the Toreros by a final score of 78-72 to improve to 3-0 in WCC play. They now hold an overall record of 14-2. With the loss, San Diego drops to 0-2 for in-conference play and an overall record of 5-9.

The Gaels took a 7-6 lead within the first six minutes of the game and held the lead until San Diego pulled ahead 29-28 with 1:46 remaining in the half on a Dennis Kramer dunk. St. Mary's was able to reclaim the lead in the final minute and head into halftime up 35-33 thanks to a Jorden Page trey.

The Toreros came back and reclaimed the lead a few times in the second half, but the Gaels were able to pull away in the final eight minutes of play en route to the final score of 78-72.

St. Mary's forward Rob Jones led all scorers with 31 points, picking up the double-double with 12 rebounds. Matthew Dellavedova also contributed 16 points, five rebounds and eight assists.

St. Mary's will play their next game on Monday, January 9th as they host the San Francisco Dons.
