Saint Mary's Gaels Lead San Diego Toreros At Halftime

The Saint Mary's Gaels are looking to pick up a big road victory over conference foe San Diego and the team played a solid first half. After twenty minutes of play, the Gaels lead the Toreros by a score of 35-33. The game is currently being aired live on ESPNU.

St. Mary's was led by forward Rob Jones, who has 14 points and six rebounds thus far. His size and athleticism has given San Diego trouble all game. Jorden Page added seven points of his own, while Mitchell Young added four points off the bench to spark the Gaels. The team shot 37% from the field in the first half and hit four of their eight shots from behind the arc, although they made just 11 of their 16 free throw attempts.

San Diego is hanging in with the Gaels at home. Johnny Dee leads their team with 10 points. Darian Norris and Christopher Anderson have done a nice job in the backcourt, scoring seven and six points, respectively.

The second half is about to begin. Saint Mary's could really use the win on the road, especially with the game being a national telecast.
