Stanford Vs. Cal Final Score: Cardinal Squanders First-Half Lead, Loses 69-59

The Stanford Cardinal visited the California Golden Bears on Sunday evening, hoping to gain ground in the Pac-12. In the end, the Golden Bears picked up the 69-59 win and improved to 7-2 in conference play. With the loss, Stanford drops to 5-4 in the conference, with an overall record of 15-6.

Stanford actually held the slimmest of leads over Cal after the first half, as they entered halftime on top by a score of 33-32. They could only put up 26 points after the break, however, as the Golden Bears outscored them by 11 points in the second half.

Only two Stanford players were able to achieve double digits in scoring. Cardinal center Stefan Nastic and forward Dwight Powell each put up 11 points. Josh Owens narrowly missed both ends of a double-double, with nine points and nine rebounds.

Stanford's next game will be on Thursday, February 2 when they host the Arizona St. Sun Devils.
