Many golfing fans in and around the Bay Area we looking forward to possibly seeing Denver Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow at the 2012 Pebble Bech National Pro-Am, but according to ESPN, Tebow unfortunately will not be taking part in the tournament.
Tournament director Steve Worthy told the Monterey Herald that injuries will keep him from playing this year:
"Due to the injuries, it looks like he’s a no-go," Worthy said.
Tebow suffered rather severe upper body njuries during the Broncos 45-10 loss to the Patriots during the divisional-round of the playoffs. Tebow tore some cartilage where his rib attaches to the sternum, bruised his lung and had fluid fill his pleural cavity, according to report.
Tebow won’t need surgery, is expected to make a full recovery.
Speaking of the Patriots, Tom Brady and Bill Belichick will be playing, as will Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo, who is rumored to be playing with Tiger Woods.
The tournament is scheduled for February 9-11.
