USF Vs. Portland Final Score: Dons Hold On For 72-71 Win

The San Francisco Dons visited the Portland Pilots on Saturday afternoon in WCC play. Both teams held a losing record in conference play going into the game, but the Dons were able to overcome trailing early and hang on in the final seconds for a 72-71 win.

The Dons trailed 39-32 after the first half, but scored 40 points after halftime to battle back and claim the lead.

USF held a 72-69 lead in the final seconds. The Pilots were able to get possession of the ball and Nemanja Petrovic attempted a three-pointer with just one second left on the clock. The attempt missed and Tenner Riley managed the offensive rebound and layup, but the end result was a one-point victory for the Dons.

San Francisco guard Cody Doolin led all scorers with 15 points, also picking up four rebounds and three assists.

The Dons will play their next game on Thursday, January 26, as they will visit the Santa Clara Broncos.
