So far, the St. Mary's Gaels are passing their biggest test of the season as they take a 37-29 lead into halftime against the No. 21/23 Gonzaga Bulldogs in Moraga in a battle of the two remaining unbeaten WCC squads.
Matthew Dellavedova has put the Gaels on his back so far, scoring 15 points and dishing out three assists. Brad Waldow added seven points and five rebounds while no one else on the team has more than five points so far. St. Mary's is shooting 47% from the field and 33% from three-point land, where they've made 4-of-12.
Meanwhile, the Zags have been spreading it around, save for Elias Harris who has eight points and five rebounds. Overall, Gonaga is shooting 38% on the night, however their three-point shooting is keeping them in the game (4-of-7).
St. Mary's leads in the rebounding battle 20-16 and if they can keep the shooting up, they'll score the upset and take control of the WCC.
