SB Nation released their latest 2012 NFL Mock Draft and they have bumped Stanford OT Jonathan Martin up one spot from No. 13 (Arizona Cardinals) to No. 12 (Kansas City Chiefs). Both teams could use offensive line help and at this point, if Jonathan Martin were to fall that far, both would gladly scoop up the monster Cardinal offensive tackle.
As is always the case this time of year, there are differing opinions on just where exactly Jonathan Martin will go in the draft. The folks at the Sporting News have him going fifth to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in their most recent mock draft. They reason that the Bucs need some protection for Josh Freeman if he is going to develop into their quarterback of the future.
As the offensive tackle rankings currently stand, USC's Matt Kalil remains the clear-cut number one offensive lineman on the board. After Kalil, Stanford's Jonathan Martin and Iowa's Riley Reiff would appear to be battling for the spot behind him. The SBN mock has Reiff going two spots ahead of Martin while the Sporting News mock has Reiff going five spots after Martin. Mel Kiper has Reiff ranked No. 7 overall and Martin ranked No. 9 overall on his Big Board.
Suffice to say, there is a lot of time for draft boards to change between now and the April draft. A strong Combine performance or a great interview could make the difference as these two are narrowly separated at this point.
