Cal Athletics Releases Portion of Willie Lyles Documents; No Recruits Ended Up At Cal

The California Golden Bears have been dancing at the periphery of the Willie Lyles probe by the NCAA, and it looks like they're close to taking their curtain call. Cal Athletics released four pages of documents to the Oregonian yesterday. They contained the basic information of listings of 49 Texas 2010 recruits, of whom only one was not from Texas (nearby Louisiana).

Two of the players on that list did commit to Oregon: Lache Seastrunk and Dontae Williams. None ended up at Cal. Cal also says they're preparing a DVD of game film and highlight film from the states that Lyles provided, something Oregon has yet to release.

So far, things are looking by-the-book for Cal football with regards to Lyles. Cal head coach Jeff Tedford indicated they'd paid $5000 for Lyle's services regarding Texas recruiting, and it appears they've received information consistent with that admission. The situation isn't quite as clear-cut for Chip Kelly and Oregon, where there remains plenty of mystery and obfuscation.
