The Oakland Raiders have already suffered some bad luck in training camp early on with Jacoby Ford breaking his left hand. Running back/return specialist Darren McFadden apparently got nicked up during a practice yesterday and missed some time. And it turns out it's more serious than that. Vittorio Tarfur of the San Francisco Chronicle reports that Raiders head coach Hue Jackson confirmed that McFadden has suffered a fracture to the orbital bone and he will be out for at least two weeks.
It's uncertain how McFadden sustained the injury, but Tarfur suggests that the injury might have been sustained when taking a huge block on a blitz pickup from safety Quentin Groves. It was McFadden's last practice play. The Raiders might now be inclined to move quickly to get Michael Bush back under contract with McFadden out and Taiwan Jones riding the bicycle.
