NASCAR At Bristol Results: Jeff Gordon Third Place Finish Ties Him For Fifth In Sprint Cup Series

NASCAR raced under the lights Saturday evening at Bristol and Brad Keselowski claimed his third victory of the 2011 season. Keslowski currently holds the top wildcard spot as the race for the Sprint Cup quickly approaches in a few weeks. The Bay Area had a strong showing as Vallejo-born Jeff Gordon finished third and Los Gatos-native A.J. Allmendinger finished twelfth.

Gordon dominated for much of the race as he led 206 laps. Unfortunately the veteran was beat coming off pit road after the final stop and it cost him his third win of the season. Gordon is sitting in a tie for fifth place in the Sprint Cup Series standings and is virtually a lock to make the final Chase. However, a victory would have given him some serious momentum heading into the final races before the Chase.

Head after the jump to view Gordon's reaction to the results of the race and his thoughts on coming into and out of the pit.
