Oakland Raiders Select Terrelle Pryor In NFL Supplemental Draft

The Raiders selected the former and controversial quarterback out of Ohio State in the third round of the NFL Supplemental Draft.

It's official: Terrelle Pryor is an Oakland Raider.

The team selected the former and controversial Ohio State star in the third round of Monday's Supplemental Draft with the 18th overall pick. Many viewed Pryor as more of a player to be selected in the later rounds of the draft, but Al Davis apparently fell in love after seeing the quarterback post a 4.34 40-yard dash in workouts last week.

With the selection of Pryor and the recent acquisition of Jason Campbell, the Raiders have now traded their third and fourth round picks for the 2012 Draft. And of course no one is forgetting the franchise used the No. 1 overall draft pick in 2007 on quarterback JaMarcus Russell, who is now a free agent.

As far as the long-term plans go for the Raiders and Pryor, it sounds like Campbell will be the starter for the upcoming season assuming he can stay healthy and somewhat productive. With Campbell becoming a free agent after the 2011 season, the team will have to decide whether or not to re-sign the quarterback or to hand the reigns over to the recently drafted quarterback out of Ohio State.

You couldn't write a story better than this, folks. Terrelle Pryor is an Oakland Raider. Best of luck, kid.
