Candlestick Park Shooting: Victim, Suspect Both Wearing Raiders Attire

Some details are starting to trickle out about the horrifying shooting of two male fans at Candlestick Park after the preseason game between the San Francisco 49ers and the Oakland Raiders. Steve Corkran, Raiders blogger for the Contra Costa Times, talked with Frank Harrell of the San Francisco Police Department, and found out these details.

  • One of the victims suffered "superficial facial" wounds and should recover.
  • The victim who is in life-threatening condition was shot two to four times in the stomach. He was wearing a provocative shirt in support of the Oakland Raiders, titled "F--k you, Niners."
  • A suspect who has been detained by police was also in Raiders attire. Both the suspect and two victims attended the Raiders-Niners game.
  • Currently, both shootings are being treated as separate incidents. It's not yet known for which shooting the suspect has been detained.
