Redskins Cornerback Carlos Rogers To Visit 49ers On Wednesday

Washington Redskins cornerback Carlos Rogers is scheduled to visit the San Francisco 49ers on Wednesday, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. Rogers, 30, has spent all Rogers has spent all six of his NFL seasons with the Washington Redskins.

Rogers was drafted with the ninth overall pick in the 2005 NFL Draft by the Redskins, and he has been a solid starter in Washington's defensive backfield since his sophomore season with 63 starts in 66 games. In 12 games of action last season, Rogers had 12 pass deflections and two interceptions for 43 yards, including an impressive 38-yard return against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Rogers has made it clear that he is looking for a change of scenery this offseason. The 49ers could be a great fit for him: the team ranked 24th against the pass last season and need to address a hole in the secondary created by the departure of cornerback Nate Clements, who chose to sign with the Cincinnati Bengals on Saturday. Rogers is an established veteran and should be one of San Francisco's top priorities at this point as the team looks to solidify its defense.
