Jeff Keppinger To Have MRI On Wrist

Well, the hits just keep on coming for the San Francisco Giants as trade deadline pickup and recent starting second baseman Jeff Keppinger will have an MRI on his wrist Tuesday.

Keppinger jammed the wrist while running out an infield hit, colliding with Atlanta Braves first baseman Freddie Freeman as he got to the bag. My fingers can hardly keep up with the amount of injury news the Giants have had today, along with Pablo Sandoval’s foot, Nate Schierholtz foot, Carlos Beltran’s wrist, and Sergio Romo’s elbow- all causing problems for skipper Bruce Bochy and his ability to make the lineup card.

I can’t help but exasperatedly chuckle at the sheer ridiculousness of it all. Almost half of the team is injured, many of them seriously, all the while San Francisco continues to struggle getting W’s and keeping up with the NL West leading Diamondbacks. Every starting position player for the Giants in the 2010 World Series has spent time on the DL this year aside from Aubrey Huff (knock on wood).
