The San Francisco Giants must be getting used to the mugginess of the south after spending the weekend in Miami, they now head to Atlanta to take on the Braves. Game one of the series will prove to be a pitcher's duel as Tim Hudson for the Braves is set to take on Madison Bumgarner of the Giants.
Bumgarner (7-11 3.53 ERA) is coming off a stellar outing against the Pirates last week, blanking them for seven full innings, allowing only four hits, one walk, and an impressive 10 strikeouts. Bummy only lasted two and 2/3 innings the last time he faced Atlanta though in the regular, giving up four runs on four hits with two walks and two punch outs, but the last time he's faced them was the 2010 NLDS.
As for Hudson (12-7 3.18 ERA) he's coming off his third consecutive win and 12th consecutive quality start in a row, sporting a 7-1 record and a 2.07 ERA over his past 10 starts. In his last outing against the G-Men, he threw eight and 2/3 innings of two run ball, along with nine hits and four strikeouts.
First pitch is set for 4:00 pm PT this evening with coverage on CSN Bay Area, ESPN2, and KNBR 680 AM.
