The California Golden Bears and Stanford Cardinal continue to target many of the top talents in the nation on both the football and basketball circuits. While Cal has had great success in recent years on the recruiting trail in football (landing two top-15 quality classes in 2010 and 2011), their abilities to land top basketball recruits has been a bit more checkered as of late. Stanford has done quite well in both sports, landing top quality recruits on the gridiron and on the hardwood thanks in large part due to their national recruiting approach.
This year, things are looking up in terms of recruiting for both schools. The West Coast is loaded with great talent that figures to be in play for both schools, particularly along the offensive line and the receiving corps. Both Cal and Stanford will be looking to replenish and rebuild for a new age in their programs. Basketball also has plenty of talented players that figure to be in play for both schools.
This will be our stream at recruiting for Cal, Stanford, and general Bay Area/Northern California recruiting. Follow California Golden Blogs (Cal) and Rule of Tree (Stanford) for more extensive coverage of the recruiting game.
