Quakes vs. Crew, MLS Scores: Keepers Shine as Quakes Battle to 0-0 Draw in Columbus

The San Jose Earthquakes were in Columbus to take on the Crew, looking for their first win in their last six MLS matches. But it was a night for the keepers to remember not the strikers as the Crew and the Quakes battled to a 0-0 draw at the Crew Stadium Saturday evening.

Quakes keeper Jon Busch made six saves on his way to another clean sheet the Earthquakes (5-6-8, 23) despite San Jose’s winless streak has now extended to six games. going 0-2-4 in that span. Crew keeper William Hesmer made five saves of his own for the Crew, who are now 4-2-1 in their last seven matches.
It marks the fifth time in six games San Jose has been shutout while Hesmer recorded his second straight shutout and seventh of the year.
