Bay Area TV Schedule: British Open, American Century Championship Highlights Saturday Schedule

Saturday will be a busy day for Bay Area sports fans as the tv schedule is filled with a host of interesting action. While we all wait for the NFL lockout to finally come to an end, we can still enjoy some entertaining sports action across the networks. The 2011 American Century Championship tees off its second round on NBC, the A's are on both FOX and CSN California, and of course the Giants wrap up the evening on CSN Bay Area. Head past the jump for a rundown of the schedule (all times pacific). And of course we've got the British Open and Tour de France for those with a taste for international flavor.

2011 Tour de France, Stage 14 - 3:30am - VERSUS
The 2011 Tour de France wraps up its three-stage run through the Pyrenees Mountains with Thomas Voeckler looking to hold onto the yellow jersey before getting into the treacherous French and Swiss Alps. VERSUS provides wall-to-wall coverage with the stage starting at 3:30am pacific. It will also be available via live online stream in a subscription service offered by NBCSports.com.

2011 British Open - 6:00am-11:30am (replayed later) - ESPN, ABC
The third round of the British Open tees off bright and early Saturday morning at 6:00am pacific on ESPN. Lucas Glover and Darren Clarke are tied atop the leaderboard at -4 after 36 holes. ESPN will air the third round live starting at 6:00am with ABC re-airing it at noon and ESPN airing it again at 4:00pm. ESPN3.com will provide a live online stream of the coverage.

2011 American Century Championship - Noon-3:00pm - NBC
A host of celebrities, including professional athletes from the four major sports, open the second round of play in one of the most famous celebrity golf tournaments out there. Players start teeing off at 8:05am and television coverage picks up at noon on NBC. There is no word yet as to whether the action will be available via live online stream, but if it is it would be at nbcsports.com. The Bay Area is represented by the likes of Jerry Rice, Aaron Rodgers, Jimmer Fredette, Jason Kidd, and a host of other celebrities.

Oakland Athletics vs. Los Angeles Angels (doubleheader) - 1:05pm, 4:05pm - FOX, CSN California
The Oakland Athletics play an old-school doubleheader with the Los Angeles Angels Saturday afternoon at the O.Co Coliseum. The early game at 1:05pm will be airing on FOX, while the late game will air on CSN California 35 minutes after the first game ends. The A's won the Friday opener 5-3 and will look to pick up some more momentum this weekend.

San Francisco Giants @ San Diego Padres - 5:35pm - CSN Bay Area
The Giants send out Barry Zito to face Cory Leubke in hopes of winning the third game of this series and fifth straight overall. Zito has given up one earned run in 14 innings since returning from the disabled list and will look to continue the strong return. The Giants sit 4 1/2 games up on the Arizona Diamondbacks and will look to boost that cushion.

San Jose Sabercats @ Spokane Shock - 7:05pm - CSN California
Following the conclusion of the A's doubleheader, the San Jose Sabercats look to maintain their flickering playoff hopes as they travel to face the Spokane Shock. If the season ended today, the Shock would hold the final National Conference playoff spot with an 8-8 record. At 7-9, the Sabercats are tied with the Tulsa Talons and Utah Blaze a notch below the Shock. A win keeps the Sabercats playoff hopes alive heading into the final week of the regular season.
