Bay Area TV Schedule: 2011 Belmont Stakes, NCAA Baseball Tournament

A while back SB Nation Bay area put together a regular television schedule commentary. It was a hard post to keep up on an every day basis, but it seems valuable to have when there are significant sporting events going on. Ideally we'll be focusing on Bay Area sports, but sometimes there are events so big that it's a worthwhile tool for folks to be able to see what's going on during the day. In the future this will be more of a morning post, but given the numerous sporting events going on today, it's better late than never. Given that we're representing the Left Coast, all times are pacific.

2011 Belmont Stakes: 3:36pm post time - NBC - live online stream via NBCSports.com

2011 NCAA Baseball Tournament: Cal vs Dallas Baptist - 5:00pm - ESPNU - live online stream via ESPN3.com
While Stanford is in the midst of its elimination game with North Carolina (trailing big right now), Cal opens their best-of-three series with the Dallas Baptist Patriots in Santa Clara. This series features a pair of excellent stories. The Bears were on the verge of having their baseball program eliminated last fall, but last minute donations saved the day. Dallas Baptist is in its sixth season of Division 1 baseball and is in its first super regionals matchup.

MLB Baseball: Oakland Athletics vs. Chicago White Sox - 4:10pm - CSN California
The Giants are currently battling the Cincinnati Reds on FOX, but later today you can still catch the A's and White Sox at US Cellular Field. The A's snapped a ten game losing streak last night with a ninth inning rally. The A's offense has struggled mightily but if nothing else you can enjoy recent call-up Jemile Weeks, who is off to a solid start in his big league career.

30 for 30 Marathon: 9pm-5am - ESPN2
If you find yourself in front of a TV late in to tonight, ESPN2 is showing a mini-marathon of five 30 for 30 films. The documentary series covered a wide range of interesting topics and tonight's marathon includes documentaries on the evolution of the University of Miami football program, the rise and fall of SMU football, the career of Marcus Dupress, the story of the Baltimore Colts Marching Band continuing to perform even after the Colts moved to Indianapolis, and the rise and fall of the USFL.
