NCAA Baseball Regionals 2011 Schedule: Stanford Baseball Faces Kansas State In Fullerton Regional

The Stanford Cardinal baseball team opens its first NCAA tournament appearance since 2008 facing the Kansas State Wildcats in the Fullerton regional. Stanford advanced into the College World Series that year and will look to start things off by taking down its regional bracket. The Fullerton region is hosted by Cal State Fullerton and includes Stanford, CS-Fullerton, Kansas State, and Illinois.

The Fullerton region will actually be available for viewing as ESPNU will be broadcasting from Fullerton. ESPNU will broadcast every game in the region. For those that don’t get ESPNU, ESPN3.com will broadcast the channel via live online stream.

We’ll have more preview information in the next day or two, but for now here is a breakdown of the schedule of games. The regional consists of a double-elimination bracket from June 3 to June 5 or 6 (if necessary). The games kick off on Friday at Goodwin Field. If Sunday’s winner’s bracket leaves two teams with one loss, the teams will play a final game on Monday evening. The winner of the Houston regional would then advance to the super regional round to face the winner of the Chapel Hill regional.
