As the San Francisco Giants head to the Big Apple to take on the New York Mets, it marks the third and final series of their 10 game road trip. Their visit to the East Coast hasn't produced many wins; or well struck balls, runs, or hits in general. They've lost 8 of their last 11 games, but have played the most road games of any time in baseball thus far, sporting a 9-10 record in their 19 games away from AT&T this far.
One key factor to the Giants inept offense is Aubrey Huff. Huff has an ugly .190 batting average so far in 2011, but is hitting .441 over his past nine meetings with the Mets. Hopefully he can spark some of that previous success to appear during this series.
The Mets have been struggling too, sporting a 12-16 record thus far and only a 5-8 record at home. They're batting a slumping .220 over their last four games, plating only 9 runs (that still is 5 more than the Giants have in their previous 4 games though).
One of these teams has to win each of these games. And if both have silent offenses once again, all of these games will likely come down to execution and a bullpen battle, which seemingly favors the defending champs.
