The third round of the 2011 French Open brought serious intrigue in the women's draw as world number one Caroline Wozniacki was knocked off by No. 28 Daniela Hantuchova in straight sets. Wozniacki's loss combined with Kim Clijsters' Thursday loss leaves the field wide open the rest of the field. Friday also saw No. 8 seed Samantha Stosur lose to unseeded Gisela Dulko. On the men's side of the draw, Novak Djokovic had his match versus Juan Martin Del Potro suspended due to darkness. It's noteworthy that the match was even at one set apiece as each man had won a set 6-3. This marks the first set Djokovic has lost in this year's French Open as he looks to extend his season-long unbeaten streak.
In other men's matches, Roger Federer and several other high seeds rolled to victory with relative ease. The biggest upsets on the men's side on Friday included No. 12 Mikhail Youzhny and No. 30 Guillermo Garcia-Lopez each losing to unseeded competitors.
