The 2011 Amgen Tour of California enters its penultimate stage on Saturday as Stage 7 takes the cyclists from Claremont to Mount Baldy. There will be some monstrous climbs, including a thousand foot ascent over the course of a mere three miles. While it is fun watching the riders race through the flat lands, a grueling climb this late in the race will make for compelling drama worth watching from start to end. We've mentioned the various viewing options before but once again, if you are not able to check out Stage 7 in person, the Tour has provided additional viewing options.
Due to the running of the 2011 Preakness Stakes, Versus will be airing the seventh stage on tape delay at 5pm pacific. If you want to watch it on Versus but don't know if you get the channel, head over to a Versus channel finder page. The race will continue to be called by announcers Phil Liggett and Paul Sherwen, and Bob Roll as field reporter.
If you want to watch the grueling climbs and high drama live, I urge you to check out the Tour site's live online stream feature. Stage 7 kicks off at 11:45am pacific and is expected to wrap up between 3:21 and 3:43pm. If you aren't able to view the footage of the race, we'll have plenty of coverage in our Tour of California story stream, while Podium Cafe will continue providing in-depth discussion about the race.
