The NL West always seems to be a topsy-turvy battle that takes until the last few days of the season to decide a winner. Well, this year is shaping up to do the same, only as of now, it's just a two team race.
The San Francisco Giants are winners of their last two against the Dodgers, putting them at 24-19 for the year and half a game above the Colorado Rockies at 23-19. The Rox have spilt their last two games in Philadelphia, but can easy take the top spot back basically on a day-to-day basis. With these teams so close, possession of first place will be back and forth like a ping pong ball.
At 20-23 the Diamondbacks are four games back of the G-Men, while the Dodgers sit a game behind them at 20-25. The Padres are bringing up the rear at 19-25, five and a half games back, but like the rest of the NL West can put on a run at any time. The Giants once again aren't in the Wild Card as of now, but have one more loss that the Marlins (24-18) and would be half a game behind them.
