The 2011 Players Championship is set to get underway at TPC Sawgrass and the Thursday tee times have been released. Thursday will see a split tee start with half the field teeing off of #1 and the other half off of #10. It will definitely be an early start for a lot of the guys with the first groups off at 7:15 A.M ET, meaning a 4:15 A.M start out on the West Coast.
Players will be competing for their share of the $9.5 million purse with $1.71 million of it going to the eventual winner. Who that will be is still yet to be seen, but the talent level for the Players is always off the charts as the top players in the world vie for the unofficial "fifth major" in professional golf.
Television coverage begins at 1 P.M. ET on the Golf Channel and will finish up sometime around 7 P.M. depending on speed of play.
