The 2011 Masters: Bay Area Ties at Augusta National

When it comes to sports the Bay Area is always involved. Even at the Masters. Here’s a look at a few Bay Area boys trying to bring the green jacket back to the Bay…

Nick Watney: The Sacramento native and Fresno State Alumni has 3 PGA tour wins under his belt already in his young carrer, and will be looking to add a major to his resume this weekend. The best finish that he has in the majors is a 7th place finish in last years Masters tournament. He’s got the skills to be successful here, now he just needs to put it all together.

Ricky Barnes: The Stockton native has been around the Masters for a while, taking home the Silver Cup (award for lowest scoring amateur) with him in 2003 after qualifying with his U.S. Amateur win that year. Ricky only has one professional win under his belt, but finished T10 at last years Masters. Hopefully Ricky can have some good rounds and put himself on the leaderboard.

David Chung: The Junior at Stanford University was one of the six amateur invitees to this years Masters, and will be looking to take home the Silver Cup for himself, as well as getting the opportunity to walk the hallowed grounds of Augusta National. Good luck young fella, hope you make some birdies out there (and maybe an eagle or two).
