2011 CIT Basketball Tournament Bracket Results: San Francisco Stuns Hawaii Late

The San Francisco Dons pulled off a late comeback against the Hawaii Warriors to advance to the quarterfinals of the 2011 CollegeInsider.com Postseason Tournament (CIT). The Dons were a six-point underdog in this CIT second round matchup and Hawaii appeared on its way to victory. The Warriors led throughout the game and were up five with 1:22 to go. However, San Francisco used a 9-1 run courtesy of Rashad Green and Cody Doolin to comeback and win the game.

San Francisco received strong efforts from four different players getting into double digit scoring. Rashad Green led the team with a monster effort including 22 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists. The team also received double digit scoring contributions from Perris Blackwell (14 points), Cody Doolin (13), and Michael Williams (11). Angelo Coloiaro added 6 points and 11 rebounds. Hawaii received a balanced effort but it was not quite enough. Zane Johnson (13 points), Vander Joaquim (13), Trevor Wiseman (13), Bill Amis (12), and Joston Thomas (12) all had double digits in scoring.

The Dons advance to host the Santa Clara Broncos in a Tuesday March 22 quarterfinal matchup at War Memorial Gym. The game will be at 7:00pm pacific. The winner of that matchup will face the winner of Southern Methodist and Northern Iowa in the semifinals next weekend.
