GQ Magazine Names Stephen Curry One of the NBA's Top 5 Under 25

Today's NBA is chock-full of freakishly talented youngsters, some more freakish than others. Gentlemen's Quarterly magazine (most commonly known as GQ) recently compiled a list of who they feel are the top 5 players in the NBA under 25 years old, and proudly sport the Golden State Warriors's Stephen Curry on the list. Usually I wouldn't put much stock into a list of athletes put together by a men's fashion magazine, but they used 5 former NBA superstars to make it for them, which gives this list much more clout in my opinion. Each former player was asked to put their two-cents in on one player, and GQ perfectly matched the talents of the youngsters with the talents of the legends. Indiana Pacers icon Reggie Miller knows all about what it takes to be a great shooter, and here's what had to say about Mr. Curry:

↵↵Everybody's different when it comes to jump shooting-it's almost like fingerprints. People talk about his quick release: Stephen was pretty much born with it. Dell, his dad, probably had the quickest release of anybody I ever played against. It's nice to have good genes, but it also helps, when you're 5 or 6, to go to a shootaround with your dad or sit on his lap while he's watching game film. Steph has probably seen more drills and more situations than most players ever will. So I don't think a lot rattles him, which is very unusual in a young player. Not many three-point shooters can create their own shot without running off a series of screens: Ray Allen can, Kobe can, and Steph can.

Curry's comrades on the top 5 list include Kevin Love (assessed by Moses Malone), Brandon Jennings (Isiah Thomas), Derrick Rose (Gary Payton), and Blake Griffin (Charles Barkley). That's a ridiculous group of talent to be associated with, and to see what legendary former players have to say about their present day equivalents is pretty awesome.

The only thing I don't like is how the artist for the piece made the group look like frightening, unrealistic caricatures (Steph seriously looks like a sleep-deprived Dr. Zaius).  Great information, terrible illustrations. Check it out.
