Sacramento Kings at Dallas Mavericks: Kings Look to Bounce Back After Blowout Loss to the Thunder

For the second time in a week the Kings look to face the Mavericks, this time on the road. It will be the second weekly rematch for the Kings in as many nights, as they had also played the Thunder at home last week as well.

Sacramento hopes to come out with better energy and a better result against Dallas though. The Kings failed to put up much resistance to Oklahoma City last night and ended up with their biggest loss of the season, by 30 points.

The Kings were without young star Tyreke Evans, who missed the game due to the plantar fasciitis he has been dealing with all year. He is doubtful to play tonight in Dallas and will likely be a game-time decision. If he does play, the Kings have a much better chance.

Rookie DeMarcus Cousins had a nice game back from his unofficial suspension for fighting with teammate Donté Greene, scoring 21 points and grabbing 13 boards. He came off the bench for the first time in a while, and that looks to be the same case tonight, although his good production and Sacramento’s poor start yesterday may see him back in the starting lineup.

Dallas beat Sacramento by two last week thanks to big contributions from the bench, mainly Jose Juan Barea (20 points) and Jason Terry (22). This helped overcome Dirk Nowitzki’s poor night, as he only scored 10 points on 4-14 shooting.

For Sacramento this will be the last game before the NBA All-Star Break. They will play again next Tuesday as they head out East.
