ESPNU 76 Classic 2011: Santa Clara Uses 10-0 Run To Stun Villanova

The Santa Clara Broncos rebounded from a tough loss to Oklahoma by stunning the Villanova Wildcats in the 2011 ESPNU 76 Classic third-place game. The Broncos ran off a 10-0 stretch to close the game and secure a 65-64 victory. Sophomore guard Evan Roquemore hit six straight free throws to close the game and secure the win. Roquemore hit pairs of free throws 51 seconds, 8 seconds and 4 seconds remaining.

The game was very much a back and forth affair as each team grabbed leads of more than five points. The teams exchanged numerous leads on a pair of solid team efforts. The Broncos were led by a season-high 20 points from Raymond Cowells III. Evan Roquemore added 15 points and nine assists. Villanova got 19 points and seven rebounds from Mouptaou Yarou and dominated on the glass 31-18, but it wasn't enough as the Broncos were able to hang around with timely three point shooting.

Santa Clara heads home to face Cal State Northridge on Saturday December 3.
