Tiger Woods has had a fairly nondescript front nine in the first round of the Frys.com Open. Tiger birdied the first hole to get to one under par and it looked he was right back on track. Then Tiger bogeyed the next two holes and it started to look like he was going in the tank. But Tiger has just been playing it straight to the vest since. He's on eight straight pars and counting, and he's holding steady at +1.
Brendan Steele is in the lead after having one of the greatest back nines in Frys.com Open history. He birdied the tenth, eleventh, fifteenth, seventeenth and eighteenth holes on his way to a tie for a first round lead at -4. Briny Baird was a little more reserved. Four birdies, no bogeys, fourteen pars. Perfect stuff on his way to his four under par performance. Paul Casey is starting to make a move of his own, with five birdies and a bogey on the front nine thru 12 holes. Three men in the lead, with Tiger trailing far behind.
