Allen Craig Lifts St. Louis Cardinals To A Championship With His Bat And His Glove

Allen Craig was probably not a well-known commodity before the 2011 World Series, but there he was wraoping things up for the St. Louis Cardinals. If it wasn't for the amazing heroics of David Freese, Craig would have been a strong candidate to win World Series MVP honors, because he was steady and consistent throughout the postseason.

He couldn't have come any bigger on offense and defense in Game 7. Craig hit a home run to put the Cardinals ahead 3-2, which turned out to be the go-ahead run en route to victory for St. Louis. He also caught a ball over the wall, stealing a clear home run from the Rangers and protecting that lead.

For good measure, he caught the final out in left field to ensure that'll he be ever remembered as the man who locked up a World Series title for the Cardinals. Not a bad finish at all for the former California Golden Bear, now current World Champion.
